§ 101 Purpose

A. The Tribal Council has found it to be in the best interest of the Tribe to provide education assistance to enrolled Tribal Members of  the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe. This program will assist Tribal Members to complete their education and promote academic achievement and educational attainment and to remove the historic barriers to student success and improve tribal economic opportunity.

B. Through this Chapter, the Tribal Council institutes the Education Assistance Program, guided by the appropriate laws, policies and procedures applicable through federal laws and regulations.

C. The Education Assistance Program established in the Chapter complies with the General Welfare Policy found in Chapter 1 of this Title of the Law & Order Code.
