101 Purpose

§ 101 Purpose

A. The Tribal Council has found it to be in the best interest of the Tribe to provide emergency and funeral assistance to enrolled Tribal Members of the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe. This  program will assist the members of the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe when unexpected emergency circumstances arise.

B. The Tribal Council is committed to making sure that allTribalMembers of the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe and their families are respected, recognized and provided with assistance at the time of death of a Tribal Member. 

C. Through this Chapter, the Tribal Council institutes the Emergency and Funeral Assistance Program, guided by the appropriate laws, policies and procedures applicable through federal laws and regulations.

C. The Emergency and Funeral Assistance Program established in the Chapter complies with the General Welfare Policy found in Chapter 1 of this Title of this Code.
