§ 101 Purpose

A. The Tribal Council has found it to be in the best interest of the Tribe to provide Back to School Assistance to enrolled Tribal Members of the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe who are 18 years or younger. This program will assist Tribal Members to complete their education and promote academic achievement and educational attainment and to remove the historic barriers to student success and improve tribal social  and economic opportunity. 

B. Through this Chapter, the Tribal Council institutes the Back to School AssistanceProgram, guided by the appropriate laws, policies and procedures applicable through federal laws and regulations.

C. The Back to School Assistance Program established in the Chapter complies with the General Welfare Policy found in Chapter 1 of this Title of the Law & Order Code.
